Land Enhancement

Drawing of a butterfly.

Our founder, William A. Russell Jr., recognized that Vermont land-use patterns were changing as dairy farms dwindled and second homeowners purchased these proprieties. Chippers was established in 1986 as ‘Your Land Enhancement Crew’ to help these new owners manage their open and forested landscapes, thereby maintaining the land’s agricultural beauty.

A smaller property can also benefit from land enhancement. Opening up your abutting woods improves the outdoor enjoyment and visual pleasure of your entire landscape – it doesn’t have to end at the edge of your lawn. We call it landscaping by removing rather than by adding.

Our land enhancement services have expanded beyond woodland beautification and field mowing to include scenic view improvementsvegetation control, (including invasive plants); nature trail design & installationexcavation workstone wall restoration & construction; and land reclamation.
